Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu

Digital designer Te Kura is New Zealand’s largest school, providing education programmes to more than 23,000 students with a wide range of backgrounds and diverse learning needs. As part of the award-winning creative services team, I work collaboratively with other members alongside the teaching staff and subject matter experts (SMEs) to produce online learning content from early childhood to NCEA level 3. The teachers and SMEs provide the raw information, which I then review and optimise into online lessons that align with the teacher’s vision, student’s needs, pre-existing designs and the businesses strategic direction. Prioritisation and managing expectations are critical, but not at the expense of innovation and iteration where necessary to create the best design and education for our students.
